The Campaign Trail
Ariel O'Cynen did much in the shadow of her father. It was fortunate Joseph's shadow was a comfortable one to stand in. But there is one key difference between her and her father: Joseph O'Cynen loathed politics. He was never was a very good politician, which is perhaps why he was so adored in his position as Councilor of Agriculture. Being his protogé, Ariel couldn't help but pick up some of that - however, she had the tolerance to play the game.
Ariel O'Cynen was on the campaign trail. Nothing extravagant - but she was out from morning till sundown, knocking on doors and spreading the word. She was already a familiar face among most of the farming community, but she put herself out there anyway just to let them know of her nomination. Other areas were not spared; she spent time in Myrkentown, attempting to resonate with her father's good past and her own fine reputation. She wanted what anybody did: to bring a little reason to the Council. In this day of uncertainty, when people wonder whose interests the elected officials are acting in, it was a pretty good campaign platform.
God help the Council if she won - the O'Cynen name isn't known for its patience with bureaucracy.
