Of surprise and opportunity...

"Oh, Ah didn' learn it from -them-. Helstone's a liar. Ah learned it from -Audmathus-."
The once-wolf's wild attack into the heart of a place she had thought secure had come as a surprise. The swinging of the axe - not towards her, but towards the Councilor, had come as a surprise.
His words had not.
"He ain' got no reason t'lie." The shaggy man had laughed.
"Of course he tells the truth." She had soothed the restrained man. "The truth often suits their aims better than lies."
Cecinefien Audmathus Xhevus, once-chosen of Lloth. Audmathus the Fallen, she had titled him to the man before her. Scarred lips twisted into a sneer. Her distaste for the males of her own race was exceptional; that distaste had long ago centered itself on Audmathus.
Audmathus the Fallen. And what, then, did that make Faeryl?
"And it is the way of the drow to use people," She'd purred to the man. "Once you kill the Councilors, what becomes of you, Biske?"
"... 'ow's that any different than from before?" He had hissed at her. She had smiled in acknowledgement of the times she herself had used the werewolf.
And then Vet had made his untimely revelation, action born out of frustration. She had reprimanded the male, of course, but the results had been... delightful. Not what she had expected at all, but what she had wanted - and a far more spectacular result than even her carefully chosen words could have effected.
"Ah'll -kill- yeh! Didn' y'care about 'im at -all-!" The wolf had shrieked, breaking free of the vines that bound him. Then: "Ah'll kill yeh. Fer -everythin'-. ... for Suede." He'd promised, before vanishing as abruptly as he had appeared.
The female smiled. She had no doubt that Biske would try to make good on that promise.
But first, Audmathus.
Audmathus the Fallen.
