The missive was neatly printed, as was usual, on fine paper.
To Governor C. Helstone:
I have recieved a missive from one Masaccio Atatar, indicating interest on the behalf of his lord in the matter of a new trading route through our province. Considering the recent problems we have experienced, the growth potential in this offer may be of interest. I shall be absent for a few days to pursue this matter.
Sincerely,
Rondeau Spier, Councilor of Trade and Commerce

Mr. Spier,
I am not sure this Masaccio character is completely trustworthy; if you recall, he was formerly a member of the Order of Straka, and was embroiled in that whole mess two summers ago regarding the scandalous accusations against the former governorn Bromn.
If you wish to proceed, proceed with caution; promise them nothing until we can speak in person.
Sincerely,
Coriolanus Helstone
