"Heheh-hahaha! You crazy Horse! We'll get there, we'll get there, but we have to wait for Mr Tready first!" Boy hung onto the reins as Horse pulled backwards, trying to keep his balance with firmly planted feet. Laughter, however, got the better of him and he stumbled forward. Catching himself he began tugging playfully on the reins again. It was great he thought, to finally be able to see something beyond what he could see from the Dagger, beyond what the sight from the stable doors or the tavern windows could show him. The longest distance he'd gone from the place he'd learned to call home was just the few hundred feet down the hill to the lake, where he'd often go to watch the stars at night and reflect upon his content, and his wants and wishes as well. Never had he even set foot upon the edge of the woods, as Pritchard had forbidden him to wander that far from the Dagger.
It was almost a wonder that Pritchard was letting him go all the way to Myrken Town, and it was only because Mr Tready was coming along too. Almost a wonder to Boy at least. No clue bore any hold in his mind that Mr Tready was anything more than just another customer at the Dagger...with an odd choice in clothes, no clue that he was such an important political figure. As he double-checked the things he'd set into his saddlebag to trade and an uncooked meal from Pritchard wrapped in a cloth he heard the shuffle of feet a short distance behind him. Setting his left foot into the stirrup and lifting himself up into the saddle he patted horse on the back and smiled, turning to see who approached, hopefully, Treadwell. Blinking eyes opened above a wide smile, the sun rising in a brilliant red gleam atop the Dagger's shingled roof, golden rays showering both Boy and Horse in a pool of shimmering sunlight.
