A missive to Treadwell

A missive to Treadwell

The ivory-haired sorceress dipped quill to ink, and set the flowing script gently into the unfurled parchment which lay before her. No light was necessary for her to write - though one might be led to wonder just how she was able to pen the message so elegantly to begin with:

"Aloisius,"

"I hope this missive finds you and yours in good health," -- not that such a thing existed for the man, she mused with a smirk. A faint sigh pressed between her lips, before she continues:

"I am writing to inquire as to the purchase of a plot of land, preferably somewhere quiet and away from the city, upon which to build a home. I am not in need of anything overly large or lavish - nor have I need of any viable farmland. I shall handle the construction of the dwelling myself, unless there is an injunction that prohibits such actions." since she most certainly was not building it by HAND...

"Something pleasant, something quiet, something safe. Perhaps by the water. I trust you shall be able to help me find something suitable."

A brief pause, just before she had begun to sign the script in elegant letters.

"The matter of compensation is complex; I am not an employee of the Governor's, nor do I receive outright payment other than the arrangement of my accommodations. However, I believe that, if you take up the matter of payment and taxation with Governor Calomel, he shall be more than happy to discuss the matter with you, in light of recent events."

That is to say, she felt she had purchased the land already, through means far more tangible than mere coin. She idly glanced aside, at a mahogany chest which housed the now-inert Teron Ashfiend.

"I thank you for your swift reply,
Kyra."

Sealed in wax, a rune traced gently onto the cooling fluid, she then slips out the door and hands the missive to a courier, to be carried to Treadwell post-haste.

The letter is replied to quickly enough in Tready's sloppy, heavy, splotchy script.

= = = = =
My dear Kyra,

Do come speak to me tonight at my toy shop, if you might, some time after supper. I shall be awaiting you eagerly.

A. H. T.
= = = = =

Now the only question for Kyra remains is, possibly, which number of supper should she visit him after?
