It had been a long time since he'd seen the warm hearth of home. Home...it seemed as foreign a word to him as the lands one hears of in fairy tales. But he was comfortable with that now. No less than a year ago had he awoken outside the Broken Dagger with nothing to his name but a ragged, muddy old blanket he'd wrapped about his waist to keep warm. Pritchard had taken him in, given him food, a home, a job in the stables. He was the closest thing the boy had to a family, as he remembered nothing else. Amnesia, thats what they had called it at the Rememdium, knowing nothing of his past, nothing of who he was or where he was from. He remembered then, and to this day, nothing before the moment he had awoken outside the dagger. Not a moment of his previous life. And hence so had his self imposed journey from Myrken Wood begun. And hence, has it so ended.
He has come to accept the mystery of his fate. For some reason or another he was intended to start anew, and so he would. He realized now that the Broken Dagger, since that day has and always will be his only true home. Things would be hard though..he'd returned only two nights passed from today, and in that time he had never felt so glad to call the dagger his home, and never felt so empty as he approached it. Pritchard and Treadwell were the closest thing the boy ever had to family, and now Pritchard was gone.
The stables called to him though, they always had, and he found it easy to settle back down into the dagger's stables and smile at the thought that once again he'd had a true home, and an all but short of adoptive family amongst the Treadwells. They had offered room in their house to him, but that was something he simply couldn't accept. He found himself much more comfortable in the stables, alongside his companion, Horse. He still remembered the day some angry old man came bumbling into the stables with the almost newborn young colt, completely unable to control him in the slightest, and in his frustration gave the colt to Boy and told him simply to keep it. He didn't have use for horses that didn't obey. But with Boy's affinity for the horses, he had quickly made a lifetime friend.
It would soon be time to head back into the Dagger's common room and try to readjust to his old surroundings. After spending a year wandering Derry, New Dauntless and Amasynia, never remaining in one place for more than a few weeks, he'd need a little time to get situated Myrken Wood again. But his memory has so far helped to serve him well, and little enough has visibly changed.
He'd need to re-introduce himself though...when he left, he was simply Boy, Pritchard's stable hand and unofficially adopted nephew. Now he had earned a name in his travels, given so by a group of lost traders from the Aja Island tribes whom he'd helped find their way out of the swamps of New Dauntless. They named him Lugo...which meant, simply, "Foreigner."
