`Twas a quiet night in Myrken...
...but near the Spires, a family of lemurs had found itself swayed by the influences of the lingering corruption that had been infecting the land. Of course, the normally gregarious, social and somewhat unruly animals had turned a bit rabid and vicious. In fact, their behavior had been completely distorted. They could be seen hunting in packs, using jaw that bite and claws that catch to maim and devour any number of smaller animals that happened to be caught by the troupe.
Snarly and bitey the animals had become, often fighting amongst themselves for dominance -- barely maintaining primate civility through brute force. Malice glowed in their now reptillian eyes, while green bile dripped from elongated fangs and razorine claws that had grown from their once soft nails tore and slashed at everything in their path.
Like wolves at night, they howled and chattered -- like horrid beasts of unspeakable nightmares. Their glowing eyes starred upon the Treadwell household until the first light of dawn would send them skittering back to their lairs to wait for another conspiriatial night.
Oh, they would have their prize -- and their fat meal... but for now, the little beasts would conspire and plot in the dark hours, waiting for the right moment to strike.
